The choice of century-old trees

Aegis guitars are crafted from black fir trees from the Vosges Mountains that are approximately 150 years old. These are trees that have survived three wars, withstood extreme winters, and endured the major changes of the century.

Their slow growth forges a rare wood, steeped in history. By transforming it, we give new life to this exceptional material to create instruments with a deep and authentic character.

Each guitar is a piece of wood that lived long before us… and will continue to live long after. This continuity, this silent history, gives the instrument something rare: a true soul.

The myth of the shield

Aegis is named after a legendary shield. Even though we make guitars, we think of them as artifacts: objects that have a presence, a history, and an intention.

Our designs are inspired by fantasy worlds, by those rare objects we imagine hidden in a chest deep within a dark dungeon filled with goblins. We wanted to go a little further than a classical guitar, creating a shape and an identity that tell a story.

The symbolism is everywhere: in the lines, in the curves, in the silhouette which recalls the strength and protection of the shield. And behind this aesthetic, there is our way of working: a precise, attentive craftsmanship, where every detail counts so that the instrument is beautiful, reliable and pleasant to play.

Aegis is a guitar… but also an object that carries a breath, an energy that you feel as soon as you pick it up. In an era where everything moves too fast and often lacks meaning, we want to create instruments that reconnect us to something deeper: making, creating, leaving a mark.

A very committed brand

Our first challenge was to create a 100% French-made brand. We decided to manufacture our guitars here in the Vosges mountains because that's where our roots are. That was the initial agreement: Aegis exists to support and develop a local industry, not to export it elsewhere.

The second challenge is to offer a high-quality, handcrafted French electric guitar at a truly affordable price. We are committed to making our instruments accessible to as many enthusiasts as possible: €1,090 for the Lyra and €1,490 for the Orion.

Finally, our third commitment is environmental. The fingerboards of our guitars are made of apple wood. For every instrument sold, we plant a new tree. A common-sense gesture to give back to nature what it gives us... perhaps one day these apple trees will even allow us to make our own cider?

  • 🔹 Where are your guitars made?

In a small workshop in the Vosges, between Nancy, Strasbourg and Dijon.

Everything is assembled, adjusted and tested here, in the quiet, where the wood resonates better than the noise of the world.

  • 🔹 What type of wood do you use?

We work exclusively with Vosges black fir.
An amazing wood for its acoustic properties, but also for its lightness: it allows saving about 30% of the weight on the finished instrument.
The result: more comfortable guitars, without losing any character or sustain.

  • 🔹 Why choose French manufacturing?

Because we were told it was impossible.
And as everyone knows: impossible is not French.
Manufacturing here is a technical and economic challenge, but also a matter of pride.
And besides, between us, it just looks way cooler to play on a French guitar.

  • 🔹 Do you offer custom-made models?

    Yes, but we avoid it.
Our models are designed to be balanced, reliable, and ready to play.
But if you are really nice — and your request is beautiful, coherent, a little crazy — we should be able to help you.

  • 🔹 What are the delivery times?

We're not Amazon — and we're not trying to be.
Our guitars are made in small batches: each instrument is unique and numbered.
We manage our stocks to produce as little as possible, without overproduction or compromising on quality.
We do our best to deliver to you in the best possible conditions.
and we always keep you informed of the progress, from manufacturing to delivery.
